Family Law Solicitor – To Head Family Team – Full Time – Salisbury

Are you looking for the opportunity to head up the family law team of an exciting and progressive firm which continues to grow?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated solicitor to join our family law team in beautiful Salisbury.

Qualifications and the role
The job is suitable for an experienced family law solicitor with a minimum of five years PQE.

The work is 100% private client – we do not take on legal aid work. As a result the successful candidate will need considerable experience with regard to divorce and in particular ancillary relief and pensions.

Experience of military divorce would be helpful – a significant part of the family team’s caseload is military divorce in which we have considerable specialist experience, for clients both locally and nationwide.

Experience in using a case management system for family law cases would also be useful.

The successful candidate
The right candidate will have;

  • a minimum of at least 5 years’ experience of family law
  • the confidence and the ability to react to change whilst working within a pressurised environment
  • the ability to supervise junior lawyers
  • good organisational and excellent IT skills
  • a keen eye for detail
  • excellent standards of client care and great communication skills
  • the ability to be an excellent biller
  • the ability to work well as part of a team
  • a desire and the ability to help in the growth of the family law department

Please note therefore this position is not suitable for junior lawyers, or candidates with limited experience.

Full -time
The job is available on a full-time basis.

Niche area of law?
As a firm, we are very keen on developing specialist niche areas of law. So if you already have, or want to develop, a niche area of practice, we would love to hear about it.

Flexible working
We offer flexible working if required – many of our lawyers routinely work from home, for example. We are more concerned with output than input – what we are really looking for is quality work, highly satisfied clients and great billing.

Starting date
Before Easter 2017.

Market rate – dependent on the successful candidate’s qualification and experience

Support Staff – Secretaries

We are actively recruiting to our bank of ‘temp’ secretaries.

We are particularly interested in secretaries who can cover annual leave or sickness in our Andover office. For this role, candidates should have legal experience and have worked in a Family Department.

For our other offices we are looking for secretaries who can cover absence in either Salisbury or Amesbury. You should have solid secretarial experience and ideally some exposure to a legal environment.

These roles are paid on an hourly or daily basis and are ideally suited to people who want to work flexibly.
