Senior Family Lawyer – Full or Part Time – Salisbury

Are you looking for the opportunity to join the family law team of an exciting and progressive firm which continues to grow?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated solicitor to join our 5 strong family law team in beautiful Salisbury.

Qualifications and the role
The job is suitable for an experienced family law solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE – or the equivalent.
The work is 100% private client – we do not take on legal aid work. As a result the successful candidate will need considerable experience with regard to divorce and in particular ancillary relief and pensions.
Experience of military divorce would be helpful – a significant part of the family team’s caseload is military divorce in which we have considerable specialist experience, for clients both locally and nationwide.
Experience in using a case management system for family law cases would also be useful, though not essential.

Head of the family law team?
Depending on the candidate, a position as head of the family team may be available as part of this role.

The successful candidate
The right candidate will have;

  • a minimum of at least 5 years’ experience of family law
  • the confidence and the ability to react to change whilst working within a pressurised environment.
  • the ability to supervise junior staff
  • good organisational and excellent IT skills
  • a keen eye for detail
  • excellent standards of client care and great communication skills
  • the ability to be an excellent biller
  • the ability to work well as part of a team
  • a desire and the ability to help in the growth of the family law department

Full -time or part time
The job is available on a full or part time basis, although full-time is preferable.

Niche area of law?
As a firm, we are very keen on developing specialist niche areas of law. So if you already have, or want to develop, a niche area of practice, we would love to hear about it.

Flexible working
We offer flexible working if required – many of our lawyers routinely work from home, for example. We are more concerned with output than input – what we are really looking for is quality work, highly satisfied clients and great billing.

Salary
Market rate – dependent on the successful candidate’s qualification and experience

How to apply
Sound good? If you’re interested in the job, email Senior Partner Tim Bishop at tim.bishop@bishopslaw.com with an accompanying letter and your CV.

Litigation Lawyer – Part Time

Are you looking for the opportunity to work with an exciting and progressive firm which continues to grow?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated lawyer to join us to conduct the firm’s own debt recovery as well as general civil litigation.

Locations
We currently have 3 offices – Salisbury, Amesbury and Andover, and at the end of September 2017 will be opening  a 4th office – Fording bridge –  by taking over long established local law firm, Jacksons.
We are happy to build the position around the successful candidate – and can therefore base whoever we take on at any 1 of the 4 offices.

Qualifications
The job is suitable for an experienced legal executive, or the equivalent. The right experience and genuine ability is what we are really looking for.
So, if you are a confident, well-presented, friendly and approachable litigator with excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you.
The job is suitable for an experienced lawyer with a minimum of 3 years PQE or equivalent. It’s not suitable for a highly experienced solicitor.

The successful candidate
The right candidate will have

  • At least 3 years’ experience of general civil litigation – it is essential that experience includes, but is not limited to, debt collection work
  • A thorough understanding of the law and practice surrounding litigation
  • The ability to run a caseload unsupervised – although the successful applicant will have the support of a high-quality litigation team across the firm
  • The ability to be self-supporting
  • The confidence and the ability to react to change whilst working within a pressurised environment
  • The ability to be an enthusiastic team player, with great people skills
  • Good organisational, time management and IT skills
  • Excellent standards of client care and great communication skills
  • A history of strong billing
  • A desire and the ability to help in the growth of the litigation department

Work type
It is anticipated that the workload will provide a variety of civil litigation work. The successful candidate will in particular be responsible for the firm’s debt collection and assisting with credit control.

Part-time?
We are happy to be flexible on hours – but it might, perhaps, suit someone working 10 am – 3 pm Monday to Friday to fit in with school or childcare arrangements.

Flexible working available
We offer flexible working if required – many of our lawyers routinely work from home, for example. We are more concerned with output than input – what we are really looking for is quality work, highly satisfied clients and great billing.

Useful, but not essential, attributes

  • Experience of using a case management system
  • A locally based candidate would be ideal – as we believe local lawyers are more successful in generating local work. However this is not essential
  • Marketing skills would be a bonus

4 reasons to join us

  1. We are a highly successful and steadily growing firm – with great lawyers and a glowing future
  2. We have happy staff
  3. We offer flexible working – many of our lawyers routinely work from home, for example..
  4. Life for law firms is really tough – many firms simply won’t be around in five years time, so you need to be careful which firm you join. Our future is looking great.
