You thought your solicitor was slow !

I’m always horrified when I hear of the delays caused by some Solicitors. But the latest story really does take the biscuit. Guy Choat, a 70 year old sole practitioner from Suffolk, has quite properly been barred from practising as a Solicitor for a three-year period following a quite remarkable delay – he took an amazing 19 years to settle the probate of a local spinster. Thankfully, Mr Choat closed his practice in September 2010. Let’s hope for the reputation of Probate Solicitors nationwide, that he enjoys a quiet retirement.
