After qualifying as a Solicitor in 1987, I originally worked in London’s West End as a specialist music lawyer. I then spent 4 years in the music industry releasing 7 independent dance records alongside various bits of production and session work. Having enjoyed my premature midlife crisis, I then returned to a proper job as a Solicitor, having failed dismally in my attempt to achieve pop stardom. I became a partner in Bonallack and Bishop in 1996, buying the firm outright in 2002. Since then I have spearheaded the expansion of my law firm, which has grown by 1,000% .
In October 2007 I finally gave up running a legal caseload of my own to focus full-time on the development of my business. My current role is split between an ambassadorial function, strategic planning, marketing, leadership and developing a business hub role - networking and introducing businesses to each other.
I now describe myself as an entrepreneur owning a law firm and thoroughly enjoy my new role. I have firm plans for continued expansion of the firm in the future. I’m also co-owner of a joint-venture company, Vector Partners, which runs one entrepreneurs’ group, and plans to launch a second group in 2011.
I’ve been happily married for the last 20 years to Bonallack and Bishop’s Practice Director, Jane Bishop. We have two fabulous growing boys– Johnny and Charlie.
My plan – to take over the world, or at least those bits within walking distance!
