Commercial and Residential Conveyancing Lawyer - Full Time - Salisbury

Are you a conveyancing lawyer? Are you looking for a job in beautiful Salisbury? Do you want to work for an exciting fast growing law firm with a great future?

If you do, we want to hear from you. Here at Bonallack and Bishop, we are looking for an enthusiastic conveyancing lawyer to join our CQS accredited Salisbury conveyancing team.

The job is suitable for a an experienced solicitor or legal executive – but qualifications are not absolutely essential. The right experience and genuine ability is what we are really looking for. So, if you are a confident, well-presented, well-organised, friendly and approachable lawyer with excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate will have:

• at least 5 years’ experience of both commercial and residential conveyancing work
• the ability to conduct lease extension work, at least in the short term
 • the ability to run their residential conveyancing caseload using a case management system
 • the ability to run your own caseload without supervision
 • be a well motivated self-starter
 • good organisational skills and the ability to multitask
 • a good eye for detail
 • excellent standards of client care and great communication skills
 • the ability to be an excellent biller
 • a desire to help in the growth of property department
 • the ability to work well as part of a team

7 reasons to join us

1. We are a highly successful firm – with great lawyers

2. We have happy staff – despite the downturn in the conveyancing market in the last few years, we made no redundancies in the conveyancing team, nor did we cut their salaries or working hours. As a result, unlike so many other conveyancing firms, we were able to keep up high levels of client care, which is now paying dividends

3. Salisbury is a really lovely place to work

4. Our residential conveyancing is good quality work– we don’t buy in cheap conveyancing, or pay referral fees. Clients come to us because we are good at what we do – and they know we care about them

5. We already have 2 dedicated lease extension specialists and we anticipate doubling the amount of well-paid lease extension work we do in the next 18 months. Having someone who can assist with that growth in work before we take a third lease extension specialist would be really useful

6. We offer flexible working – many of our lawyers routinely work from home, for example. We are more concerned with output than input – what we are really looking for is quality work, highly satisfied clients and great billing.

7. Life for law firms is really tough – many firms simply won’t be around in five years time, so you need to be careful which firm you join. Our future is looking great – we are, for example, the only law firm I know of whose bank voluntarily reduced the firm’s bank charges last year! They clearly have confidence in us

Future specialisation

The current goal involves a mix of commercial and residential conveyancing work. We are convinced there is the opportunity to significantly grow our commercial conveyancing work. We strongly support lawyer specialisation and would be keen to work with the successful candidate, should they wish to do so, to work towards a purely commercial or residential conveyancing caseload, as the work grows.

Useful, but not essential, attributes

 • Marketing skills would be a bonus
 • The ability to bring referral sources with you

Sounds good ? If you’re interested in the job, email Senior Partner Tim Bishop at tim.bishop@bishopslaw.com with an accompanying letter and your CV.
