Admission to the Spinal Injuries Association Panel

BONALLACK & BISHOP - LAWYERS IN SALISBURY- PRESS RELEASE

August 2005

Denise Broomfield’s admission to the Spinal Injuries Association Panel

Andover and Salisbury Law Firm Bonallack and Bishop are delighted to announce that the Solicitor who heads their Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department, Denise Broomfield has been accepted on to the Spinal Inquiries Association specialist solicitor’s panel.

Denise has practiced in the field of personal injury claims since qualifying in 1991. She has handled many high value claims stemming from a range of accidents including military accident, accidents at work and accidents arising from negligent medical treatment.

Denise says “I find acting for clients who have had spinal cord injuries very rewarding. People making a spinal injury claim are extremely badly injured and will face long term disability. It is a real challenge to get them an award of compensation which will ensure they can live as independently and with as much dignity as possible. I am often involved with the client for many years and get to know them and their families really well. The resolve which a severely injured client can have is remarkable”

Denise is one of only a handful of female personal injury solicitors on the panel. When asked what additional dimension being represented by a woman can bring to a case Denise replied:

“I do act for a lot of women. Anyone who has had a spinal cord injury can have problems with incontinence and for a female client it can also impact severely on her ability to have children in the future. In these circumstances female clients often prefer to have a female solicitor, to deal with the more delicate aspects of her claim”.

The Duke of Cornwall Unit at Salisbury is one of the National Spinal injury units in the Country.

“I am really pleased to be able to practice so close to a leading spinal unit” says Denise “it makes it easy to contact the client when he or she is in hospital and to liaise with the family. The Duke of Cornwall unit is an excellent spinal unit and the rehabilitation facilities at Salisbury District Hospital are also amongst the best in the country”.
