BONALLACK & BISHOP ANDOVER LAWYERS- PRESS RELEASE
6th October 2008
Successful launch of the Andover Business Breakfast Club
Andover's latest breakfast networking event, the Andover Breakfast Club, was launched highly successfully by Andover Solicitors Bonallack & Bishop on Tuesday 9th September at the Hampshire Golf Club. The event, supported by local radio station Andover Sound, saw 80 people attend to hear an inspiring talk from Des Benjamin, Chief Executive of Simplyhealth Group and project leader of Andover Vision, outlining an ambitious future for the town and calling for leadership from the business community.
The breakfast follows on from the success of Salisbury Breakfast Club, started in April by Bonallack & Bishop. Tim Bishop, Bonallack & Bishop’s Senior Partner said, “The Salisbury and Andover Breakfast Clubs were started when, having grown tired of the forced formality and minimum attendance requirements at many other breakfast networking events, we decided to set up our own to offer large and small businesses an opportunity to get together every month, exchange ideas and build good local relationships. The breakfasts have been an amazing triumph, with the first Andover breakfast so popular that we needed to set up extra tables and spilled over into a side room. Such a high turnout makes the event so successful and ensures you don't have to talk to the same old familiar faces month in, month out. Although we plan to have speakers occasionally, the emphasis is very much on enjoyment and informality to keep a bright modern approach to the meetings. We would encourage anyone involved in a local business to attend.”
Describing the breakfast club concept, Simon Olney, Creative Director of Andover-based Skala Marketing Consultants, commented, “I’ve been to a fair few networking events but feel the Andover Breakfast Club got the mix just right. It was an excellent event and I made some really decent contacts today.”
Also commenting on the success of the Andover Breakfast Club, “Ian Axton, Managing Director of North West Hampshire's new radio station, Andover Sound, said "We're delighted to be supporting the Breakfast Club. As a new business in town ourselves, it's a great way to meet with other businesses and talk about how, by working together, we can make sure Andover continues to thrive."
The Andover Breakfast Club meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 8a.m. until 9.15. Costing only £10 to cover the cost of the breakfast, and with no membership fee, or other commitment, this is an ideal opportunity to network with like-minded business people in a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfasts will normally take place at the Hampshire Golf Club but on October 14 and November 11 only will be at Andover's Quality Hotel.
