A new reason to avoid Employment Tribunals

Quite apart from the issues of wasted time, legal costs and the risk of a sizeable award, there is now a new reason to tighten up your employment procedures and to resolve grievances and disputes internally. Following a recent decision from the Information Commissioner's office, the names of employers who are taken to an Employment Tribunal will now be published. Our advice – deal with grievances promptly, always closely follow your disciplinary procedures (presuming that you have them and that they are adequate) and keep good records of any discussions or decisions made.
