In general terms that’s great, but it does create problems in the modern world, when everything is done at high speed. It’s not surprising to find that many elderly people feel increasingly vulnerable, even with considerable support from their loved ones.
Here at Bonallack and Bishop we feel passionately about providing older people with the support and dignity they need in later life.
And that’s exactly why we have joined together with our trusted friends at Salisbury care agency, There4U, to provide what is in effect a one-stop shop for your care, legal and financial needs.
A truly bespoke service
Everyone’s situation is subtly different. That’s why the human touch, providing the right solution to the right problem is critical.
How can Future Solutions help me and my loved ones?
In a nutshell, it’s a one-stop shop covering many of the practical and legal issues faced by elderly people.
And there are three main parts of the service.
1 – Protecting you – here at Bonallack and Bishop, we make sure that vulnerable people have the right legal framework to support them. This covers a surprisingly wide range of issues – preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, creating and administering trusts, making applications to the Court of Protection, and helping with financial issues – whether it’s downsizing and buying a smaller house, or releasing capital through an equity release schemes.

And we can also help with managing money and paying bills so you never need to worry about that again. Even if you have to go into hospital, we will make sure your home is kept safe.
2 – Caring and providing physical and practical support. There4U’s carefully trained staff can provide all the support you need to continue living at home, return home after a spell in hospital or move to a care facility. Whether it’s additional physical care and support or freeing up time for their current family carers by helping out with some day-to-day needs, their services are available 7 days a week at competitive prices.
3 – Signposting. This is the third and a critical part of the service. Between Bonallack and Bishop and There4U, we have built up a huge local network of trusted professionals, tradesmen and suppliers over the years. We regularly reassess who we are working with – to make sure they can provide the kind of quality of service we would want for ourselves.
So if you have a problem we can’t solve directly, we know someone who can!
It’s quite difficult to list all of our reliable local partners in this sign posting process – but here are just a few;
- Estate agents – for example, if you’re thinking of downsizing, perhaps moving into a bungalow
- Insurance brokers
- Independent financial advisers – for advice on the funding of care home fees as well as retirement, investment and tax planning services
- Tradesmen including builders, plumbers, electricians and handymen – everything from complete renovation to small jobs around the house.
Your trusted carers
There can be few things as important, in later life, as your physical and practical care. Here at Bonallack and Bishop we don’t make recommendations lightly – and we have complete faith in the There4U service.
Where does your service cover?
Although as a law firm, we represent clients throughout England and Wales, this is a much more local and personal face-to-face service. So together with There4U, we broadly run this service in the Salisbury, Amesbury and Andover areas.
One point of contact
Whatever the problem, we will do our best to provide a practical solution. We believe in keeping it simple – so all you need to know is to contact either Jo Broom at There4U or Emma Lockwood, here at Bonallack and Bishop.
Their individual contact details are at the bottom of this page.
A personal note from Bonallack and Bishop Senior Partner Tim Bishop.
“We are a family run and owned law firm – my wife Jane is our Practice Director. I lost both my parents well over 30 years ago and my in-laws welcomed me in as a full member of the family 34 years ago.
I love them dearly – and it’s fantastic to see that with support, they continue to live independently in the home that my father-in-law, Arthur, built himself. He is now 92 and his wife, Rita, a mere spring chicken at 89. While they don’t live locally to us (they’re based in the Nottingham area) they continue to flourish – but only with the right support system.
We are very proud to be able to provide, with There4U, a service to help people just like Arthur and Rita.”
