Remote Legal Executive Conveyancing Job  Remote Legal Executive Conveyancing Job.Photo of remote working

If you are a legal executive looking for a remote conveyancing job, you will already know how competitive – and often frustrating – the recruitment process can be. Many roles are filtered through agencies, job descriptions can be vague, and genuinely flexible remote positions are rarer than they should be.

At Bonallack & Bishop, we take a more direct and transparent approach. We are looking specifically for experienced legal executives seeking a fully remote residential conveyancing role, with a clear understanding of what the role involves, what we expect, and what you can expect from us.

A Remote Conveyancing Role Built for Legal Executives

We are actively looking for a legal executive (FILEX) or experienced conveyancer to join our well-established residential property team.

This is not a generic vacancy. It is a role designed for someone who:

  • Already has solid residential conveyancing experience
  • Is comfortable working remotely without supervision – with solid experience of purely remote working
  • Wants to be part of a growing, structured and supportive team
  • Prefers to focus on quality fee earning work, rather than management responsibilities

We are a CQS accredited firm, with a strong reputation in residential conveyancing and a consistent flow of high-quality work.

What Makes This Remote Conveyancing Job Different?

Many firms advertise “remote” roles that are, in reality, hybrid or heavily supervised. This is genuinely different.

1. Fully Remote Working – Done Properly

This role can be 100% remote, provided you have prior experience of working from home in a legal environment.

You will need to demonstrate that you can:

  • Manage your own caseload independently
  • Maintain productivity without close supervision
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues remotely

We are not looking to “experiment” with remote working – we already know it works when done properly.

Location is genuinely not a problem. Although we are broadly a high street law firm with offices in Wiltshire and Hampshire, we currently have lawyers in Spain and Florida.

2. Strong Structural Support Around You

You will not be working in isolation. You will be part of a 35-strong residential conveyancing team, supported by:

  • A dedicated onboarding team
  • A specialist post-completion team
  • Access to administrative support and systems
  • The potential support of up to 2 paralegals (with structured training already in place)

This means you can focus on fee earning and client care, rather than being bogged down in avoidable administrative tasks.

3. A Role Focused on Delivery – Not Management

This position is ideal for a legal executive who enjoys conveyancing work itself, rather than seeking a management or partnership track.

To be clear:

  • This is not a partner-level role
  • There is no immediate management progression requirement
  • The focus is on being a high-performing fee earner within a strong team structure

For many experienced legal executives, this is exactly what they want: clarity, stability, and autonomy.

Who This Role Is Ideal For

This remote legal executive conveyancing job is particularly suited to someone who:

  • Has at least 3 years’ solid residential conveyancing experience
  • Is qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive (FILEX) or has equivalent practical experience
  • Has a proven billing record
  • Is confident handling a full caseload independently
  • Has previously worked in a fully remote legal role

You should also be:

  • Friendly and approachable with strong client care skills
  • Highly organised with good time management
  • Comfortable using case management systems and modern IT tools
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple transactions
  • Detail-focused with a high level of accuracy

Experience We Particularly Value

In addition to core conveyancing experience, we are especially interested in candidates who:

  • Have experience training or supporting junior staff or paralegals
  • Enjoy contributing to team development and improvement
  • Are comfortable adapting to efficient, system-driven ways of working

While training experience is not essential, it is a genuine advantage given our structured paralegal development programme.

Our Conveyancing Team

You will be joining one of the most important parts of our firm.

Our residential property department:

  • Consists of around 35 team members
  • Handles a high volume of quality conveyancing work – but not cheap work. We are not a quality conveyancing factory
  • Operates with clear systems and defined processes. Our case management system is proclaim – and we are just launching an internal innovation team to improve that case management system further
  • Continues to grow steadily year on year

We place a strong emphasis on:

  • Client communication
  • Efficiency and consistency
  • Team collaboration – even in a remote environment

Remote, Hybrid or Office-Based – Your Choice

Although this page focuses on remote roles, we offer flexibility:

  • Fully remote working (for experienced remote conveyancers)
  • Hybrid working
  • Office-based roles in:
    • Salisbury
    • Andover
    • Amesbury
    • Fordingbridge

However, if you are applying for a remote role, prior successful home-working experience is essential.

Salary

We offer a competitive, market-rate salary, which will depend on:

  • Your experience
  • Your qualifications
  • Your billing track record

We are open to discussing the right package for the right candidate.

Our Remote Legal Executive Conveyancing Job – the Recruitment Process

We aim to keep our recruitment process straightforward, efficient and respectful of your time.

Stage 1 – Initial Informal Conversation

If your application looks like a good fit, the first step is a short Microsoft Teams call with Tim Bishop.

This is deliberately informal. The aim is to:

  • Get a sense of your experience and approach
  • Allow you to ask questions about the role and the firm
  • See whether there is a good mutual fit

There is no heavy preparation required at this stage.
________________________________________

Stage 2 – Formal Interview

If we both feel it is worth progressing, the next step is a more structured interview.

This will be:

  • Either in person or via Microsoft Teams (for remote candidates)
  • Conducted with:
    • Our Practice Director
    • The Head of our Property Team
    • And Tim Bishop

This stage focuses more on:

  • Your technical conveyancing experience
  • How you manage your caseload
  • Your approach to client care and team working
  • Your experience of (or suitability for) remote working

________________________________________

A Sensible, Two-Stage Process

We do not run long or overly complex recruitment processes.

Our aim is to:

  • Make decisions promptly
  • Keep the process clear and proportionate
  • Ensure both sides have enough information to decide whether the role is right

A Final Word

If you are an experienced legal executive looking for a genuine remote conveyancing job, with:

  • Proper support
  • A strong team
  • High-quality work
  • And no unnecessary complications

This role is well worth exploring.
