PARALEGALS – we take paralegal training very seriously and regularly take on paralegals as part of our Accelerated Development Programme. Click here for more details of our law graduate paralegal scheme. Regardless of whether we have any current paralegal job vacancies, we are always keen to hear from bright enthusiastic LLB and LPC graduates who are looking for entry-level legal jobs and a long-term legal career – and who live near to one of our four branch offices.
REMOTE WORKERS – please note that while some of our vacancies are entirely suitable for remote lawyers, we will only consider applications for these legal jobs from candidates who have already had experience of purely home working for law firms.
Litigation Lawyer – hybrid or office based – FULLY REMOTE working also available
Are you looking for the opportunity to work with an exciting and progressive firm which continues to grow? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced lawyer to join our busy dispute resolution team, and possibly take over the role of Department Head. The position is available to both solicitors and CILEX legal executives.
The successful candidate
The right candidate will have :
- at least 4 years’ solid experience of litigation work
- desire to help in the growth of the litigation department
- great people skills and will be an enthusiastic team player
- good organisational. time management and IT skills
- high standards of customer care
- a history of strong billing
The job is suitable for a solicitor with genuine ability and proven experience.
Experience as Head of Department previously is useful but not essential.
So, if you are a confident, well-presented, friendly and approachable lawyer with excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you.
The job
Initially, the job will broadly replace an existing lawyer’s caseload of mainly civil with some more limited commercial litigation work – with the current caseload split broadly as follows;
- Contested probate claims – 70%
- Other commercial and civil litigation, including professional negligence and construction disputes – 30%
It does not involve dealing with personal injury and medical negligence work (we have 2 other experienced solicitors dealing with that work exclusively).
The dispute resolution department includes an existing team of 2 other litigation lawyers, and a paralegal, dealing exclusively with property disputes.
Head of our dispute resolution team
A Head of Department role is available for the right candidate.
Developing additional niche work
We love niches – areas where we can develop genuinely specialist areas of law to completely outshine the opposition regionally and even nationwide.
If you have a niche area of law you have developed or would like to develop in addition to the existing workload, we would love to talk to you about it.
Location
The job is currently based at our Salisbury office, and that is our preference – with very flexible hybrid working, although working out of either our Amesbury, Andover or Fordingbridge branch is also possible. However, we are happy to consider fully remote working for the right candidate.
Many of our lawyers routinely work from home. We are more concerned with output than input – what we are really looking for is quality work, highly satisfied clients and great billing.
Salary?
Market rate – dependent on the successful candidate’s qualification and experience.

We have no objection to the successful candidates working for other firms, or as an independent freelancer, in addition to this legal job with us.
Our position
We are a successful mid-sized and growing law firm. And much of our existing work is for private clients. However, it is clear that there is considerable scope to grow our work for business clients.
