Residential Property Vacancy – Full or Part Time – Salisbury, Amesbury or Fordingbridge

Are you looking for the opportunity to work with an exciting and progressive firm which continues to grow? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated lawyer or experienced paralegal to join our increasingly busy CQS accredited residential property team.

Location

The position will be based in either our Salisbury, Amesbury or Fordingbridge offices – whichever suits you best.

Qualifications

The job is suitable for a residential property lawyer with a minimum of 3 years PQE or equivalent.
The job would not be suitable for a partner level candidate.

The successful candidate

The right candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience of residential conveyancing work
  • A thorough understanding of the law and practice surrounding conveyancing
  • An ability to run freehold and leasehold sales and purchases without supervision
  • The confidence and the ability to react to change whilst working within a pressurised environment
  • The ability to be an enthusiastic team player, with great people skills
  • Good organisational, time management and IT skills
  • The ability to multi-task under pressure
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent standards of client care and great communication skills
  • A history of strong billing
  • A desire and the ability to help in the growth of the residential property department

Work type

Our conveyancing is good quality work– we don’t buy in cheap residential conveyancing. Clients come to us because we are good at what we do – and they know we care about them

The team?

Overall you will be part of a 22 strong property team.

Useful, but not essential, attributes

  • Experience of using a case management system for property work
  • Regular experience of shared ownership conveyancing
  • The ability to bring referral sources with you

Full-time or part-time?

The job is available on either a full-time or part-time basis. Full-time is preferable.

2 Litigation Lawyers – Full or Part Time – Salisbury, Andover, Salisbury or Amesbury

Are you looking for the chance to work with an exciting and progressive legal firm which continues to grow? We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and motivated lawyers to join our busy civil and commercial dispute resolution team.

The two positions

In general terms we are looking to recruit one senior lawyer and another more junior lawyer, with perhaps around one years good dispute resolution PQE.

The successful candidates

The right candidates will have :

  • solid experience of civil and commercial litigation work and an ability to run these cases unsupervised
  • a desire to help in the growth of the litigation department
  • great people skills and will be an enthusiastic team player
  • good organisational. time management and IT skills
  • high standards of client care
  • a history of strong billing

The job is suitable for a solicitor or legal executive, or even highly experienced paralegal, with genuine ability and proven experience.

Proven ability in training junior staff would be a bonus, although it’s not essential. Experience of successfully running litigation claims using no win no agreements would also be a bonus.

The job
The role is part of a team of 3 litigation lawyers (and a shared secretary/administrator and paralegal) dealing with a variety of commercial and civil litigation. It does not involve dealing with personal injury and medical negligence work (we have 2 other experienced solicitors dealing with that work exclusively).

To an extent each of the two jobs can be built, subject to the availability of work, around the two lawyers we recruit.

However one of the positions will need to involve become the firm’s property dispute resolution and landlord and tenant expert, who will need to work closely with the firm’s successful Property Investor team.

Location
The job is currently based at our Salisbury office – but we are happy to discuss the possibility of alternatively working out of either our Andover, Amesbury or Fordingbridge branch offices with the right candidate.

Full or Part Time?
Ideally, both jobs are available full-time. The team is far from short of enquiries and new work. However we are happy to consider part-time working for the right candidate.

Developing additional niche work
We love legal niches – areas where we can develop genuinely specialist areas of law to completely outshine the opposition regionally and even nationwide.

If you have a niche area of law you have developed or would like to develop in addition to the existing workload, we would love to talk to you about it.

Family Lawyer – Full or Part Time – Salisbury, Andover or Fordingbridge

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated lawyer to join our team.

The role

The job is suitable for an experienced family lawyer with a minimum of 2 years PQE – or the equivalent. While this might be a solicitor or legal executive, we are also happy to consider experienced paralegals who are able to run their own files without regular supervision.

The family work is 100% private client – we do not take on legal aid work. As a result the successful candidate will need solid experience with regard to divorce and in particular ancillary relief and pensions.

Experience of military divorce would be helpful – a significant part of the family team’s caseload is military divorce in which we have considerable specialist experience, for clients both locally and nationwide.

Experience in using a case management system for family law cases would also be useful, though not essential.

An enthusiasm for private children work would also be useful.

The successful candidate

The right candidate will have;

  • a minimum of at least 2 years’ experience of divorce and family law the ability to work unsupervised, as part of a team
  • the confidence and the ability to react to change whilst working within a pressurised environment.
  • good organisational and excellent IT skills
  • a keen eye for detail

Legal Secretary/Administrator – Full Time – Litigation Team –  Salisbury

We are looking for a Secretary/Administrator in our Salisbury office, to work in the litigation team.

You will be part of a busy team, and will ideally have strong secretarial skills, preferably with extensive legal experience. However we are also happy to look at locally based law graduates who are able to fulfil the administrator role as their first legal job.

You should have a typing speed of at least 60 wpm, be a good team player and have a calm and professional approach. Being able to multi-task and deal with confidential information appropriately are a must!

Dispute Resolution Paralegal – Salisbury office (No agencies offering inexperienced law graduates please. However we welcome introductions to experienced paralegals through agencies)

We have a new position available for a graduate who wishes to develop their career in professional services management.  It is suitable for a newly qualified graduate.

The successful candidate

The role

Support Staff – Secretaries

We are actively recruiting to our bank of ‘temp’ secretaries.

We are particularly interested in secretaries who can cover annual leave or sickness in our Andover office. For this role, candidates should have legal experience and have worked in a Family Department.

For our other offices we are looking for secretaries who can cover absence in either Salisbury or Amesbury. You should have solid secretarial experience and ideally some exposure to a legal environment.
