Commercial Lawyer Jobs Work From Home. Remote working vacancy

Commercial Lawyer Job – Work From Home With Us – We Are Hiring

Here at Bonallack & Bishop we are currently looking for an experienced commercial lawyer who wants to work from home. So, if  you’re a solicitor or a legal executive, if you’re looking for a highly flexible part-time role, we have the job for you.

High Street and remote clients – we act for them both

We are not a purely remote law firm – but a traditional high-street firm that has extended its offering and adapted to the modern world. Bedfordshire, Bexhill, the Isle of Wight and Spain are the locations of some of the excellent lawyers we have managed to recruit recently. and remote working is nothing new for us. We have been encouraging staff to work from home, when relevant, for over 10 years now – which meant 80% of our lawyers were ready to go working from home within 2 hours of lockdown being declared in March 2020.

That means you can either work remotely, on a hybrid basis, or permanently in 1 of our offices in Wiltshire and Hampshire –Salisbury, Andover, Fordingbridge and Amesbury.

Last time we checked – 54% of our clients weren’t actually local. Many of those were for some of our specialist niche services where people clearly prefer genuine specialist expertise over simply going local. So, for example, the vast majority of  work done by our specialist leasehold team (lease extension, enfranchisement and right to manage work) is for clients nationwide –  there simply aren’t that many leasehold flats near us. Similarly, we act for numerous property investors and property developers nationwide – because we understand how they work (senior partner Tim Bishop is an active investor and developer himself).

Experience for the role

Here at Bonallack & Bishop, we are predominately a private client firm, though we do a lot of commercial property cases and regularly handle commercial litigation – the head of our Dispute resolution team, an experienced commercial litigator himself, is an ex-equity partner at top 100 firm Things.

As a result, alongside occasional backup from a couple of consultants who work from us when available, you will be the only person handling any company and commercial work that comes in.

Therefore, you will need a minimum of 4 years’ solid experience of non-contentious commercial work in private practice. The ability to work unsupervised is therefore essential.

We do believe that there is scope to considerably grow our commercial law work. We are a medium-sized firm with about 65 staff, including part-timers and consultants. Therefore an enthusiasm to help us grow that work would be a bonus.

In addition, an added bonus, though not essential, would be the ability to handle employment law work. For the 1st time in 25 years we find yourself without an employment lawyer – and are struggling to recruit one.

Part-time

Ideally we are looking for someone who wants to work for a total of three days a week. That can either be three fixed days or spread throughout the working week. However if you would prefer a lesser commitment, we are quite happy to talk to you about more flexible working arrangements

Niche areas of commercial practice?

As a firm, are very keen on developing specialist niche areas of expertise. So, if you already have, or would like to develop, a niche area of work – we would love to talk to you about it.
