Chartered Legal Executive – Head of our Property Dispute Resolution Team
Carl is a specialist in both residential and commercial property disputes, and in particular disputes between freeholders and leaseholders and is the Head of our Property Dispute Resolution Team.
Previously he has worked in a law firm handling large value claims in the High Court and County Court together with also handling a large quantity of cases. Carl can handle both extremely well with great results for his clients.
Property litigation can have a number of pitfalls to a person who is not a specialist in this area, with commercial and residential tenancies having different legislation and processes. Carl has extensive knowledge regarding the different areas and has successfully recovered for his clients their rent and debt in full.
Management companies and landlords have instructed Carl regarding Ground Rent and Service Charges arrears, of which he has handled their cases in the County Court and the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).
Additionally, Carl has extensive knowledge and experience of forfeiture of commercial leases as well as residential leases from the opening of the file, through the courts and to the closing of the title at Land Registry.
Carl accepts instructions from clients regarding litigation in other areas too, such as contractual debt arrears and enforcement of debt via the court or merely to give advice on cases where the client wishes to have additional guidance on how to handle their case.
Prior to specialising in property litigation, Carl worked in a busy Citizens Advice Bureau giving advice on a wide area of law, including employment, immigration, contract, debt and government procedures. Having a wide area of knowledge has helped his clients obtain the best results in court.
